FIND: FREEHOLD INTENSIVE FOR NEW DIRECTORS

Launching 2024

If we want to change our future, we need to change our present.

FIND is a new path for emerging directors.

An alternative to expensive, exclusive directing training programs, FIND is:

  • paid workforce development

  • part-time for one year

  • exclusively for Baltimore-area artists, with a focus on BIPOC and female directors

  • personalized to meet participants where they are on their artistic path

  • designed to provide core competencies in directing, along with leadership, collaboration, and business skills.

In 2024, Sisters Freehold will pilot FIND for a cohort of 3. These emerging directors will be paired with established artists for hands-on learning opportunities & hybrid learning. Each participant will be paid $20,000.

The program hinges on partnership & collaboration—between organizations, artists, cohort members, and the community. We will gather data and track impact metrics throughout the experience and afterwards.

By 2026, we will have trained 16 new directors, collaborated with >50 artist mentors, provided paying opportunities for 150 local artists, and served over 5,000 audience members.

Full details (including timelines, curriculum, and application information) will be posted soon. Make sure to sign up for our email newsletter below to stay up to date!
